OLOCAL STUFF is an upcycling and bespoke design project. Basically, we produce our items in an environmentally-friendly way, which involves a lot of thought and creativity. All this, to avoid the rapid consumption of textiles.
Our project began with a group of friends who were fed up with the hype/fashion chain and the way the sneaker market worked. So we decided to make our own stuff, but with real added value...
What do we do ?
What do we do ?
"Making clothes out of clothes"
Upcycled creations aren't very complicated. We take second-hand materials and give them a new lease of life by building a new item from what we've salvaged. For example, we made tote bags (very stylish, by the way) from sleeping bags reinforced with old tablecloths.
If you don't know what bespoke sneakers are, think of it as simply the fact of creating your own pair of shoes. This kind of pair is really aimed at mega sneaker enthusiasts (or people like us, who want something 100% their own). To make them, we try to use as much second-hand material as possible, whether it's the leathers or the soles which have to be officially produced. We can see what you're thinking.. it's perfectly legal, because this activity falls into the customization category. Basically, we remove the sole from an old sneaker of yours, or one that will come from the resale market, and build the pair you want on top of it!
Textile personalization is even broader, but think of us as trying to give a new life to your old clothes, or those of the general public that end up in thrift shops, Caritas or Emmaüs, by personalizing them. This can range from simple embroidery to more complex serigraphy, allowing you to apply cool visuals to accessories or clothing*.
*This is a service we also provide for local associations, SMEs, clubs or cool individual projects!
